Black Knights News · Winter Sports Update December 13, 2020

Greetings, this is Rodney Redd, Director of Student Activities and Athletics with an important update about winter sports tryouts and practices.  Basketball and Cheerleading got off to a great start this past week, and on Monday, December 14th, student-athletes will have opportunities to join the winter track & field and swim teams.  Please refer to the information below for times and locations. Wrestling has had a strong pre-season and will begin practice on Jan 4, 2021.

Charlottesville High School will exercise caution in relation to the Covid 19 pandemic and in-person activities and practices will cease after December 15, 2020 and resume on January 4, 2021.  During the Winter Holiday, coaches and athletic department staff will continue to work and will be available and teams will be able to communicate, meet, and prepare virtually.

We thank you for your continued patience and understanding as we work through this challenging time.

Charlottesville High school will be virtually hosting our annual Winter sports S.P.A.I.N. meeting or  “Student / Parent Athletic Information Night” on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at 6:00pm. There will be a brief presentation by the Athletic Department and a Q and A session with the Director and the Head Athletic Trainer. There will also be an opportunity to meet head coaches and other department members.

Parents and Guardians of winter sports team members will be emailed a zoom link on Tuesday night December 15th.  We hope to see you there! Go Black Knights!
