Black Knights News · Lights, Camera, Action! Basketball Begins!!!

The Charlottesville Swim team started the 2021 Black Knight athletic campaign off with two wins as the Boys’ and Girls’ swim teams defeated Louisa on Friday night at Fork Union Military Academy.  The Black Knight Swim team will host Fluvanna at Brooks YMCA on Friday, January 15, 2021 at 6pm.  There will be no spectators allowed, but please feel free to join in on the live stream.

Basketball begins tonight and both the boys team and girls team take on the Fluvanna FLUCOS, with the JV games starting at 6pm and the Varsity games starting at approximately 7:30pm.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions there will not be any spectators allowed, but all four games will be available on some type of live stream.

The boys will travel to Fluvanna and their game will be able to be seen on the NFHS network. (click “Here”)

The girls will host Fluvanna at home and even though we have recently installed our official NFHS Pixellot camera system in the gymnasium, it will not be ready for  broadcast until the end of the week.  We will be live streaming the two girls’ games tonight, Tuesday, January 12, 2021 (click “Here”)

As always the best place to go for the most accurate information for upcoming athletic events, is our “Live Schedule” on Jeffersondistrict.org    The events here will be updated with a camera icon that will take you to the live stream of the contest when it begins.

While tonight’s girls game will be free, all games on the NFHS network will require a subscription, roughly $10 a month or $60 a year.  With this subscription, you will not only get to follow the Black Knights, but you will have access to any high school game in the country on the network in real time or on demand!  It is a great value and a great way to support high school athletes from the comfort of your own home.

We would like to thank CCS Technology Director, Pat Cuomo and his team, specifically Tim Beasley, Derek Smith, and Steve Vineyard for helping us stay current with the emerging technology surrounding high school athletics.  This will efficiently enable supporters of Black Knight Athletics to tune in to events and it will also make sure that film is available for our athletes to have the opportunity to be recruited to play at a higher level.
